The KTM X-Bow has just been given the ‘Revo Treatment’! Its 2.0L TFSi Audi engine normally delivers 240hp, but with the combination of up-rated K04 turbo, fuel injectors, fuel pump, exhaust system, intake and Revo Technik Stage3 tuning software its power is increased to a seriously impressive 350bhp (261kW) with 345lbft (468Nm). This really is the ultimate package for the X-Bow.
Revo Technik already has an impressive track record with the 2.0TFSi engine, offering a comprehensive software upgrade programme for the VW Group cars that run the engine. However the Revo Team has taken a fresh approach with the X-Bow project; with it’s low weight and mid engine layout it’s a very different animal. The key focus throughout has been on maximising driveability whilst vastly increasing the performance.
Working closely with two of our dealers and customers; Milton Keynes based Backdraft Motorsport and Essex based AmD Technik, we have delivered performance software for a tried and tested hardware package for the X-Bow giving smooth power delivery, a much more linear throttle response and performance levels that the car deserves.
Uniquely, our software is fully adjustable using the SelectPlus switch. The switch simply plugs into the OBDII serial port under the dash and allows the user to choose between a standard mode or one of three customised software performance modes. Simply select a program, plug in, wait a few seconds, remove the SelectPlus device and start the car. These performance modes can be created for different fuel qualities, driving styles, driving conditions, road or track, or climatic conditions. Boost, timing and fuel adjustment are all variable. Adjustments are made in the PC based software and then uploaded directly to the ECU via the communication mode on the switch itself. The SelectPlus also features additional security modes with an Anti-theft function which is designed to disable the ECU itself, and a Valet mode that significantly limits the engines performance.
